GCT was founded by a group of Philanthropic followers of Sree Narayana Guru, the great saint and social reformer of Kerala.
Sree Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences (SNIMS) is the first Medical College to come up under Gurudeva Charitable Trust (GCT). SNIMS aims to provide affordable Medical Education and access to quality health care for all.
SNIMS is located in Chalakka, a quiet rural township. Our campus is spread over 46 acres amidst lush greenery. Cochin International Airport, Nedumbassery, is 14 kms away. Students have been consistently excelling in academics ever since the commencement of the UG,PG and Paramedical programmes. Results reflect the exemplary standard of the academic coaching SNIMS provides, thanks to eminent and distinguished faculty members.
Our students regularly procure top ranks in university examinations. In the Final MBBS Examination held in 2014, 2017 and 2018, our students bagged the first rank. First MBBS Examination held in 2020 our student was the second topper. Likewise, Second topper in the II MBBS Examination held in 2015 was from our institution. In 2014, our student secured third position in the first MBBS Examination. In the year 2016, three of our students’ brought laurels by obtaining first, second and third ranks in Anatomy in Kerala state!
The Academic Block accommodates the Preclinical and Para-clinical departments, students labs, museums and lecture halls. Every lecture hall has audio visual amenities. Examination halls, central library, digital library with 24 hours internet connection are other facilities in this block. In addition, the academic block has a large conference hall and an auditorium. The 560 bed hospital offers a range of clinical specialties, super specialties and emergency services.
SNIMS campus provides separate hostel facilities for boys and girls. All rooms have attached bathrooms. Faculty members are provided accommodation in the campus. A well designed playground and well equipped gymnasium adds value to the living conditions and helps students keep physically fit.
The overall administration, management and control of the affairs of the Trust and its properties are vested with the Board of Trustees made up of 428 members. The Board of Trustees have a Board of Directors to manage, administer and control the Trust. The Board of Directors have an Executive Committee of Eleven Members to manage the Educational Institution with a team of distinguished personnel, who have vast experience in their respective Professions.

SNIMS is located in a 46 acre lush green campus at Chalakka, in Ernakulum district. SNIMS is easily accessible via NH 544 or NH 66. Two nearby Railways stations are in Alwaye (16 kms) and Angamaly (13 kms). Cochin International Airport is just 14 kms away from our campus.
The Sree Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences (SNIMS ), was established in the year 2007. Subsequently Medical College was established and turned functional in August 2009.
SNIMS used to admit 100 students a year for the MBBS course but the National Medical Commission (NMC) has permitted SNIMS to admit 150 students from the academic year 2021-2022.
SNIMS now offers Postgraduate courses in seven clinical specialities with a total admission of 12 seats. The departments with PG courses are Pharmacology, Community Medicine, General Medicine, Respiratory Medicine, Paediatrics, Orthopaedics and Otorhinolaryngology.
The first batch of students were admitted to the Sree Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences on 10/8/2009. A orientation program was held on 17/8/2009. After fulfilling all the requirements of Medical Council of India, classes were started. This college was affiliated earlier to the Mahatma Gandhi University. From 2010 onwards SNIMS is affiliated to the Kerala University of Health Sciences, Thrissur.
The first batch of MBBS students passed out in 2014. Ms. Reny Benny stood first in the university. Many students from this batch did well and procured distinctions and first classes.
We got MBBS first rank consecutively in the academic year 2017 and 2018 under Kerala University of Health Sciences. Ms. Ashima R Chandran (student of 2012 batch) was the first rank holder of Kerala University of Health Sciences ( examination year 2017). Ms. Sreevidya Suresh student of 2013 batch, got first rank under Kerala University of Health Sciences in 2018.
Ms. Amritha Krishna J of 2019 batch secured second rank under Kerala University of Health Sciences in the year 2020 for first MBBS examination under CBME scheme introduced by the National Medical Commission.

In the year 2016, our students stood first , second and third in Anatomy in the state of Kerala. These achievements reflect deep commitment and dedication of our faculty and the high standard of our academics.
Twelve batches of Medical students have been admitted in the medical college since then. Eight batches have successfully completed MBBS course. Many of them are pursuing their Post-Graduation in subjects of their choice in Medical schools all over India.
