OUR VISION

Progress Through Education:

Our vision is to develop a new generation of doctors with academic excellence who would be able to provide better medical care to the patients and service to the society upholding all the values and ethics of the medical profession.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to cater to the health needs of the society with well trained medical professionals.

What makes SNIMS unique is that as a charitable organisation, the management is keen on providing medical care without a profit motive. This magnanimity keeps hospitalisation expenses comparatively lower than Medical colleges of other charitable organisations in Ernakulam. This move therefore encourages people living between Ernakulam and Thrissur to avail high end medical care at affordable rates

MEDICAL COLLEGE

MBBS course started in the year 2009. 100 students had enrolled in the first batch. Students of our first batch completed their final MBBS examination in 2014 and many of them have already acquired postgraduate qualifications. The then rule was to admit 50 students from the list provided by the Government and remaining 50 students had to complete the entrance examination conducted by the management with the approval of the Government. Our institution is fortunate to have world class faculty. Many of our faculty have taught not only in India but are also in many English speaking countries. Faculty in addition to vast experience also have publications to their credit as well as research experience.

Head of the institution is the Principal. Principal is supported in day to day work by administrative staff. They guide our students to become true professionals. One of our aims is to inspire and motivate every student in academic front. The results of every examination speak volumes on how well our teachers deliver quality contents. This reflects on deep commitment and a passion for teaching. Sports and literary activities are encouraged to mould good habits in young students. This way, our students learn to contribute proactively to the development of the society.

Separate hostel facilities for girls and boys are provided. Additional facilities provided include spacious rooms on twin sharing basis, common rooms, computer rooms, gymnasium and facilities for indoor games. Canteen facilities are excellent where quality culinary fare is served. Health Insurance is mandatory for all students. Wardens make sure security is provided round the clock.

The fully air conditioned central library located on the first floor has more than 8000 books and periodicals. Separate air conditioned rooms store indexed journals. Reading rooms are provided inside and outside the library. Journal club and digital library are two additional facilities. We have 60 national and 40 odd international journals. As the demand grows more and more journals and medical periodicals are added. Digital library has 25 systems with access to all indexed journals. Our Library committee is made up of distinguished faculty members.

These services offer more than just telephonic support. Patients have access to information, get right medical advice or customer service via telephone, email. Currently WhatsApp is also being used where necessary. Doctors support is available day and night

COVID VACCINATION CENTRE

SNIMS took the initiative to commence Vaccination drive in the very early stage of the Covid-19 pandemic. All arrangements were made as per guidelines provided by the district health authorities.

An advance payment has to be done at the time of admission. Daily and alternate day bills are given to the patients and pending dues are to be cleared. Final settlement of accounts will be requested during discharge. Payments are to be made at the billing department. . The hospital accepts payments in Cash and through demand drafts. Please note that the hospital does not accept cheques. Daily or alternate day bills are generated and sent to the patient/bystander which are expected to be paid immediately. Surgical packages that include surgeon’s fee, OT charges, Anaesthesia charges, consumables and medicines are in force with effect from March 2014. These charges are to be paid before the surgery is performed.

RSBY patients do not have to pay for hospitalised treatments if they have adequate balance in their cards for the treatments that are permitted under RSBY. In case the Insurance company for RSBY disapproves the sanctioning, the patients will have to make payments on their own.

We entertain TPA and cashless insurance transactions. SNIMS has tied up with TPAs such as TTK, Mediassist and United Health. TPA desk is functioning at the first floor along with RSBY and all the information can be obtained from the staff manning these counters. It is the duty of the patient and relations to ensure that they qualify for insurance cover in case their claims are rejected, they will have to arrange and clear all bills on their own.
