Dr. Nikhila L.N. Receives David Sackett Award and Best Team Performance Prize at International Health Research Course

Dr. Nikhila L.N, Second year Post Graduate Resident from Department of Community Medicine, has been awarded the prestigious David Sackett Award and First place for the Best Team Performance at the 14th Annual International One Week Course on Health Research Methodology and Evidence Based Medicine conducted by St. John's Medical College and Research Institute, Bengaluru, India, in collaboration with faculty from McMaster University, Canada, from 13th – 17th March 2023.

Dr. Nikhila L.N, Post Graduate Resident from Department of Community Medicine, has been awarded the Best Poster at the 5th Amrita International Public Health Conference organised by the Department of Community Medicine & Public Health, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi, on 2nd–3rd December 2022.

Arts Activities
  • Students of the 2009, 2010 and 2011 Batches participated in MEDICOS Fest 2011 (1st–4th December) and won prizes in Classical Music, Dumb Charades, Mehendi, Classical Dance (Solo), Poem Recitation, Kerala Nadanam, and Instrumental Music.
  • Onam, the harvest festival of Kerala, is celebrated at SNIMS with great enthusiasm — competitions include traditional flower carpet making, "breaking the pot," and half-day cultural events involving both staff and students.
  • Christmas and New Year celebrations are held with gift exchanges, carol singing competitions, crib-making, and cultural programmes.
  • Durga Pooja is organised in the college office and operation theatre, where students and staff have their books, equipment, and instruments blessed.
  • A Movie Club is organised in the college, with active student involvement.
  • The 2009 Batch had a multi-purpose tour to Hyderabad and Secunderabad in October 2011.
  • The 2011 Intermedicos "Plexus" was held on 1st December 2011 at Co-operative Medical College, Kalamassery, Kochi, where SNIMS participated in more than 20 events including Nostalgia, Group Dance, Drama, Bharatanatyam, Classical Solo & Duet, Dumb Charades, Mehendi, and various offstage events. Competing against around 22 other colleges, SNIMS finished 8th overall and won the following prizes:

Our students, Ms. Anusree S and Ms. Teenu Mary Joseph, scored 'A' Grade in Bharatanatyam and the Essay Writing Competition respectively at the Youth Festival of M.G. University, 27th–31st January 2011.
