SNIMS strengthens Research Excellence through Two-Day GCP Training & Research Methodology Workshop 2026 The SNIMS Research Cell successfully organized a two-day Good Clinical Practice (GCP) Training and Research Methodology Workshop on 30–31 March 2026 to enhance research competency and promote high standards in clinical practice. The program was inaugurated by Lt. Gen. Dr. Ajith Nilakantan, Executive Director & Medical Superintendent, who highlighted that research extends beyond data collection to a structured process of ideation, critical evaluation, and system design aimed at improving healthcare delivery. He emphasized the transition from Good Clinical Practice to Excellent Clinical Practice, underscoring the need for continuous improvement, innovation, and patient-centered care, along with the importance of disseminating research for public benefit. The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Dr. Indira Kumari K.R., Principal (SNIMS), in the presence of Prof. Dr. Thomas Jerry, Vice Principal (SNIMS), and Dr. Simple Rajagopal, Principal (SNCON), along with faculty, staff, and participants. Day 1: focused on GCP, with expert sessions by Dr. Ashok Shenoy K. (Professor, Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore), Dr. Prathibha V.K. (Professor & Head, Amala Institute of Medical Sciences, Thrissur), and Dr. Abhima M.B. (Professor & Head), covering ICH-GCP guidelines, Indian regulations (ICMR 2017, NDCT Rules 2019), IEC roles, clinical trial processes and risk benefit assessment. Day 2 : featured a Research Methodology workshop led by Dr. Libu G.K. (Professor, Government Medical College, Kollam), with sessions by Dr. Alexander John (Professor & Head Dept.of Community Medicine), Dr. Manjusha K. (Associate Professor), Dr. Preetha Susan George (Assistant Professor), and Dr. Vinitha Xavier (Assistant Professor cum Statistician), focusing on research fundamentals, literature review, research question formulation, study design, sampling techniques, and protocol development. The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation and provided valuable hands-on learning experiences, reinforcing the importance of structured research in advancing clinical practice, strengthening institutional research culture, and improving healthcare outcomes.
SNIMS Participated in Anti-Drug Campaign
Sree Narayana Institute of Medical Sciences (SNIMS) collaborated with Kunnukara Panchayat to promote a drug-free community. Our MBBS students actively participated in:
1. A rally with powerful slogans against drug abuse
2. A street play and flash mob to raise awareness about the dangers of substance abuse
This initiative aimed to educate and inspire the community to say no to drugs and promote a healthy lifestyle.
