As part of the 5th National Pharmacovigilance Week, the Department of Pharmacology, SNIMS, organized a Pharmacovigilance Program comprising expertise talks:

1. “Navigating ADRs in Dermatology” – by Dr. Feroz Kaliyadan, Professor & HOD, Dermatology
2. “Respiratory ADR: A Review” – by Dr. Hemalatha V.S., Professor & HOD, Pulmonology

The insightful session ended on a high note with Dr. Abhima M.B, Professor and HOD Pharmacology, urging all doctors to engage actively in pharmacovigilance efforts. Also champion awards were distributed to the Departments of Medicine, Psychiatry, Gastrosurgery and Pulmonology for their enthusiastic and active participation in ADR reporting. Ms. Lakshmi Soman, 2022 MBBS batch received the first prize in the ‘Medvigil Expedition – digital poster competition’.

The Department of Pharmacology conducted a Sensitisation Programme on Pharmacovigilance & Materiovigilance, including Skill Training on ADR Reporting, Causality Assessment, and Medical Device Adverse Event Reporting for head nurses and supervisors on 20/09/2025.

Dr. Rose Ninnya and Dr. Rajeesh E. K from the Department of Pharmacology led the sessions with engaging and informative talks, emphasizing the vital role of nurses in identifying and reporting adverse drug- and device-related events to ensure patient safety and effective healthcare delivery.

Dr. Akshay, Clinical Pharmacist, delivered an awareness session on Pharmacovigilance during the Jeevadhara Camp held on 20/09/2025.
